Missouri Western State University held a conference on Child Abuse Investigation on April 17-18, 2013 in St. Joseph, Missouri. It was sponsored by the Regional Law Enforcement Academy; the Department of Criminal Justice, Legal Studies, and Social Work; the Department of Nursing; and the Northwest Missouri Children’s Advocacy Center. During the two days, there were presentations on mandatory reporting laws, physical trauma in child abuse, techniques of interviewing abuse victims, and sex trafficking of minors. Representatives of the JAYC Foundation presented a three hour workshop on “Reacquainting Law Enforcement Officers and Employees with Their Culture and Mission, with the goal of Bringing Joy and Pride Back into their Work”.
The following is a note to our administrator about the presentation:
Alicia, could you please forward my thanks to the Foundation members that assisted with our conference. They did an incredible job. Not only did they do a fantastic presentation, but it was a true pleasure to work with them. From the moment I met them, it seemed as though I had known them for years. Terry’s kindness and generosity shown to my wife was amazing. Your organization does a remarkable job, and that includes you as well. Thank you for all your help in coordinating this event.
Could you also please express my gratitude to Jaycee. She must be a truly amazing woman to care enough about others to put together such a wonderful organization.
Thanks again for everything, I hope to have an opportunity to work together again.
