The Kansas City, Missouri Police Department would like to extend its appreciation to the training team with the JAYC Foundation, Inc. What an exceptional training opportunity for our law enforcement and probation/parole officers to experience, especially using equine assisted therapy techniques. This beneficial training provided unique and thought provoking techniques on communication, self assessment, teamwork and inter-connectiveness. Every participant thoroughly enjoyed the training and definitely will have a positive effect on the way they approach their daily work.
Some comments I received from participants are as follows:
Detective Kim states: “Thought provoking and causes one to look inside of yourself asking am I doing the best job I can do?”
Detective Maggie states: “The training has changed the way I approach new and old cases. I learned you can be their strength and hope simply by making a phone call.”
Captain Joe states: “Using horses to assist in training was unique and drove home the points of the training.”
P/P Officer Alicia states: “One thing that impressed me was that the facilitators seemed to understand that the things that happen in the course of our employment do affect our mentality. We observe, hear and read reports on far too many horrible things and then have to deal with the perpetrators… it was nice to hear that someone else realizes that.”
Thank you so much for providing this valuable training and we do hope that other can benefit from this training in the near future and beyond. It was wonderful meeting the training team, working with them and I am looking forward to future collaborations.
Sincerely,
Captain Chelly Pfeifer
