Black Cord Necklace with Charm

The process used to make the pine cone jewelry is called "lost wax casting". Each cone is handpicked from high altitude alder trees in Lake Tahoe, California. The cone is then covered in a high heat plaster and baked at 1,500 degrees until the pine cone is reduced to ash - thus leaving a perfect mold. Sterling silver is injected into the empty mold and left to cool before it is ultimately polished into a beautiful piece of jewelry. Each mold is used only once... there are no two pieces of pine cone jewelry that are alike.

Black Cord Necklace: Handmade twisted nylon cord. Approximately 19 to 20 inches in length. Loop and knot closure.

Pine Cone Charm: Sterling silver. Sizes vary. Approximately 1 inch tall (including the necklace loop) by half an inch wide.
