Florence Crittenton of Arizona is a non-profit 501C(3) organization that has served Arizona’s girls and their families for well more than a century. Today they offer a comprehensive continuum of care designed to help at-risk girls from 10 to 21 overcome issues of abuse, neglect, teen pregnancy, and behavioral and/or mental health problems. On March 10, 2016, Florence Crittenton’s annual Teaming Up for Girls Luncheon returned to the Arizona Biltmore Resort to celebrate over 119 years of service to at-risk girls and young women throughout Arizona. The Luncheon was co-chaired by Nina Munson and Chris Anderson. This inspiring and entertaining luncheon raised funds to “help further their mission of providing every girl whose life we touch safety, hope and opportunity”. In the words of the chair, “the organization was honored to have kidnapping survivor and author Jaycee Lee Dugard as the keynote speaker for the 14th annual luncheon”. The luncheon also honored Julie Johnston, Arizona Native and 2015 Women’s FIFA World Cup Champion, with the Hope Award.

In the words of the organization spokesperson, Dr. Kellie Warren, CEO: “Jaycee is a beacon of hope that has faced adversity and is the epitome of the values we bestow upon our agency’s girls every day. Her story will undoubtedly make a significant impact on the lives of every person in attendance, including the agency’s clients who will be at this annual event.”

Jaycee was honored to speak before this organization and wishes them the best in their services and fund raising efforts. “We may think of giving just once a year, but programs like Florence Crittenton give all year round.”
