The JAYC Foundation has been able to provide services to over six families so far in 2017. Many of the families are from out of state, a couple from the greater Bay Area. In some of these cases the work is in progress. The issues for these families ranges from familial abduction, severe sexual assault, and reconnection after major trauma. The clinical team has been very gratified with the results of these services.
One case that has been widely publicized in main stream media, is the case of a family that was recovered in Mexico.
As described in a recent article in People magazine, this family involves a mother and eight children. Services involve visits to consult with the team working with the family in the Midwest, as well as frequent phone consultation with the local team. The most recent trip September 9-11, 2017 included working with the family in meetings with the lead Clinician and school administration. This family was referred to us through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. (http://missingkids.com). This mother has shown an abundance of courage and resilience as she continues to raise her five children. You can read more about this family at
Just this week we learned that the perpetrator in this case has been apprehended due to the willingness of the mother to release her story to the public.
